Her path

Since my childhood, I have been practicing classical music. I was trained at the Conservatoire where I learned, at a very young age, to play several instruments. The artistically very demanding and precise aspect of my studies was combined with an important sensibility to all Arts. Contests and selections led me to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris I entered when I was 20 year-old. After graduation, and as soon as I started my career, I specialized in contemporary creation as part of musical ensembles working directly with contemporary composers. The creation of theatrical pieces combining drama, music and dance (working with directors, choreographers, collaborating with visual Artists, Painters, Sculptors) generated multiple tours in Europe, from London to Moscow, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and also for instance the Venice Biennial. I soon felt I needed to transform my creative spark into an artistic form that would capture the emotion in time. This is how I started to shape, sculpt and how I discovered another way to express myself, more solitary and more intimately: a world that offered me a way to channel my emotion by giving it a lasting shape. Such a new space of creation revealed my desire to become a Sculptor. I naturally turned my eye to the human body for my sculptures by working in several workshops with an eagerness to learn anatomy and through the completion of works from live models.

Her artistic statement

The observation I have been able to make on dancers and bodies in movement since my childhood and during my career has been determining in my artistic statement as a Sculptor. Dance has been an inspiration in which I gladly took material to express myself and it is still the case today. I give a special attention to the female body which inspires me deeply through the tension, the stretching but also first and foremost the curve and bending. The Woman’s theme has naturally taken its space as a dominant topic in my aesthetic world. Women are multiple but a Woman is unique. It is through her that it seems to me possible to encapsulate the emotion and give it to the audience. This theme is universal regardless of the individual representations we have from it, and resonates in each and every one of us. It is an endless topic to me as a Sculptor. I do not see any limit to it.

Her evolution

Since the beginning, I have been feeling that I was looking for an everlasting stylization, for a line that is as pure as possible, as direct as possible between the eye and emotion. The search for line can sometimes go through careful observation of Nature: the original shape of shells, flowers, stones… In everything, the line inspires me… I take it on and I bend to my will the condition of the objects to breathe life into these shapes through a human body transposition. At first, I worked with terra cotta with multiple research on textures, colors, patina, and creation of unique pieces. Terra cotta is fascinating in itself; it is a century-old technique, a very noble material… Bronze then came to me as self-evident and it has been an incredible adventure: it is also a technique that has been existing for millennials. It is the play on elements: Earth, Water, Fire, and elements fusion… whenever the Artwork “gets out” in bronze… we touch the inexpressible! The notion of unique piece is very important to me. I dwell on this notion which comes from the use of terra cotta I also include in bronze. My bronze pieces are often unique pieces and it is very rare when I reproduce sculptures.

Her exhibitions

I have been exhibiting in severak galleries, including in the South of France, in Provence, on the French Riviera, as well as in Europe, including in Italy (Firenze). I like to talk about my work during my exhibition s but only if there is a true interest from the visitor. I have always had a great pleasure taking in the feeling people had whenever they want to share it during an exhibition. I will soon exhibit in London at the Royal Opéra Arcade Gallery in April 2019 as well as in Aix-en-Provence at the 361° Gallery, a Contemporary Art space in June and July 2019. I am also one of the Artists who has been selected to be part of the exhibition "L'Art Ô Feminin" organized by Galerie THUILLIER in Paris from April 5th to 18th, 2019.

Her relation to Art-Trope

The multiplicity of the various solicitations and the exhibition possibilities are always impressive… How not to get lost? It is clear that we need to make the right choice! Art-Trope can help me to this. As a Sculptor Artist, I feel like it is rather difficult to make those choices and this is the reason why I need advice and selected contacts from Art-Trope to better take careful artistic actions with a clear line and a certain logic. Also, I would like to be able to remain free to create and take part in events that suit me, aligning with myself. I have no urge when it comes to my practice since I am determined to do it right, always making Art a priority.
