Art Capital, an Art fair on the rise

Founded in 2006, the Art Capital Art fair has become an anticipated event for painters, sculptors and contemporary Artists. Taking place under the Grand Palais’ dome in Paris, the Art fair puts together, on the occasion of its 2018 exhibition, close to 2000 Artists. As a result, over 40 000 visitors attend the Art fair annually. In fact, the goal of the 5 days event is to give Artists, Fine Arts professionals, collectors and visitors to interact. The themes of freedom, tolerance and solidarity have always been essential to the development of the Art fair. In addition, the uniqueness of the Art fair is that it divides the event in 4 different sections: the salon comparaisons, the Salon de la société des Artistes français, the Salon du dessin et de la peinture à l’eau, and the Salon de la société des Artistes indépendants.

Minh Châu and her body sculptures

To the sculptor Minh Châu, creation is the story of her life. Originally a fashion designer, she now creates bodies through sculptures. High and thin, in a waiting and reflecting posture, her bodies align with her life course. Indeed, in fashion drawings there is always verticality that starts from the head and goes to the malleolus of our standing foot which forms a line that has to stay straight. This has been the guiding principle of her sculptures. To that end, she uses paper as a primary material. Flexible, malleable but also rigid and hard, all kinds of qualities can be found in paper. She is mainly inspired by the observation of people passing by to invite us to spend some more time on details and build a new relationship with time.

The Artist’s goals as part of Art-Capital

Minh Châu will present for the first time her sculptures on the occasion of Art Capital Art fair. It is something new for the Artist. Effectively, on the occasion of her conversation with Art-Trope, she said: “Exhibiting my work is new to me and I must say it is quite harrowing. The idea is to reveal myself even though I am quite reserved.” Art-Trope offers its Artists a set of services dedicated to support them on the occasion of international Art fairs. As a result, Art-Trope builds on an ecosystem that enables Artists to apprehend without stress the important steps of their artistic career. Minh Châu, sculptor and Art-Trope Artist is delighted to participate in Art Capital and stated: “To my greatest joy, I have been selected and therefore my artistic adventure continues”.
