Until December 22nd, 2017, Art-Trope Artist Aymard le Forestier de Quillien will present his work at the hybrid space le Purgatoire-54 Paradis in Paris, as part of his exhibition entitled “Words in Colors”.
Aymard le Forestier de Quillien, painter
Born in 1952, Aymard le Forestier de Quillien has always liked to observe in silence. Originally, he wanted to work as a craftsman. Consequently he moved to Bordeaux to become the apprentice of a master glassmaker who also worked on mosaic. His many encounters with artists eventually inspired him. After graduating from Bordeaux’s School of Fine Arts, the idea of becoming a painter came to him as self-evident. His work has always been guided by the importance of colors and shapes.
The exhibition “Words in Colors”
Whenever Aymard le Forestier de Quillien is asked to talk about painting, his anwser tends to focus on the concept of universality. Indeed, his painting is both a slice his life and life as a whole. Nothing is linear. To the contrary, it is the story of a wandering painting with canvases like words to create an artistic language made of colors. As a result, what interests him the most are shapes and colors. The idea is to share an aesthetic experience like a symphony. The exhibition “Words in Colors” puts together several artworks extracted from a wide range of artistic phases including the most recent pieces.
A one-of-a-kind gallery
Founded in 2011, The Purgatoire-54 Paradis is a definitively modern open space. In this place of life and celebration, where people shares their taste for contemporary art connecting with others. Indeed, that is what the Founder and Chef Alain Cirelli intended to create in the first place. It is a showcase for contemporary creation, a space of research, discovery and encounters around cooking and related activities. In the Purgatoire, you will find a space for hosting events and exhibitions with the possibility to make the place your own in under any circumstances. In this inspiring place, Alain Cirelli hosts art shows on a regular basis and builds bridges between the art works displayed in the gallery space and the culinary propositions of the expert chefs.
