An innovative concept

Latest project of Chef Alain Cirelli, Le Purgatoire-54 Paradis is an open hybrid space dedicated to contemporary creation. Founded in 2011, with a gallery upstairs and a kitchen in the basement, this unique setting combines contemporary Art and Haute Cuisine. As a result, Le Purgatoire-54 Paradis is a place for encounters which forges links between artistic projects and food concepts. Inspired by New York style refined concept stores, reminding of great franchises such as Dean&Deluca, Le Purgatoire-54 Paradis follows the tradition of the trading posts from the 19th century.

A multi-faceted founder

Founder of Le Purgatoire-54 Paris, Alain Cirelli has already lived several lives. Nevertheless he never left cooking world. After starting at Laserre in 1983, he spent 20 years working with Michelin-starred chefs. 1992, he went to Italy where he worked in the kitchens of famous chef Enoteca Pinchiorri. When he came back to Paris in 1997, he became chef at the Saint-James Club Paris. Later on, Olivier Bertrand asked him to manage the growth of his company. A year later, Alain Cirelli took over the restaurant «Natacha » a place discreetly favored by show business people and journalists. It is in 2007 that he created Evénements Culinaires where he gave cooking lessons, and organized events. Le Purgatoire – 54 Paris is the continuation of that project, promoting creativity where culinary Art meets with contemporary Art.

Indeed, the goal is to promote creations that resonate with the Chefs’ culinary proposals. Therefore, the space offers the possibility to give free rein to imagination for any kind of event. Concert hall, business meeting room, show room, concept store, fashion shows, private dinners, Le Purgatoire-54 Paradis offers endless possibilities.
